Brenda Faye Crockett

10-year-old Brenda Faye Crocket lived in NorthWest Washington, D.C., near Cardozo High School. She had a close knit group of friends that she enjoyed spending time with.On July 27, 1971, Brenda’s mother sent her to a Safeway 5 blocks from their home to pick up food for their three dogs. Brenda never made it home, but later that night, she called home twice. Heavy footsteps were heard in the background. Brenda said "I'll see you" and then the line went dead. She was never heard from again. 8 hours later, a hitchhiker discovered Brenda's body alongside U.S. Route 50.
